HELP!Town

HELP!Town was a film I made for the Youtuber Nightmind's 'Candybowl' 2021, an event in which he invites smaller creators to submit a short horror film based on the theme for that year. 2021's was "old school internet horror', so naturally I went the video game creepypasta route.

Heavily inspired by Commodore 64 games and the rumors of Boston, Ohio (aka Helltown), this retro-game styled film took me about 3 months of constant work to put together, and was my first time finishing an original film. This project also required heavy research, both in the town it was inspired by as well as the technology I was attempting to replicate.

I won't lie, this was a somewhat stressful project to put together, but if it weren't for the opportunity Nick Nocturne gave me, I wouldn't be where I was today.

Adopt A Private

Adopt a Private [2022] was a short film meant to give Lore for my original series 'Roadkillerz' with a UPA styled Army propaganda film.

The 'Adopt a Private Program' in canon was meant to encourage recruitment by treating it almost like an internship and getting shoehorned into a higher position of power compared to everyone else. The 'USA Council of Victory' was a branch in the RKZ universe responsible for spreading, well lets face it, blatant pro-war propaganda. Just like in real life, the US only cares about flexing their military and making it the rest of the planet's problem while "protecting our freedom".

Politics aside, this was just an experiment to see if I could replicate a retro styled film and I...guess I achieved it? C+ for effort.

Roadkillerz

Roadklillerz [2023] is a 10 minute animated pilot inspired by late 90s/mid 2000s cartoons.

This took me a little over half of year to complete (not counting when I had to pause to work on other things), from March 2022-May 2023. Here, I storyboarded, animated, and edited the entire thing. I did receive additional help in the form of voice actors. I am very proud of the result and learned a lot about project management from it!

'Roadkillerz' itself presents a simple good vs evil story, with an innocent bystander getting wrapped up in an assassination attempt. My goal was to tell a simple story with character dynamics being the main focus.

Vaincu

Vaincu is a webcomic I illustrated in between Roadkillerz production. This was a paid illustration job from MoBroStudios, an opportunity I am still greatly thankful for.

"17-year-old Roxanne Windsor brings her kid brother Vincent to Jumping Dragons, an indoor playground that Vincent claims has a hidden treasure. When he disappears into the tunnels and doesn't return, Roxanne finds herself dragged into a nightmare she may never escape from."

Content Warning, as it contains themes of loss and suicide. Its also a horror comic with very trippy visuals.

My experience working on this comic for about 2-3 months had its ups and downs, mainly with me getting carpal syndrome every few weeks and a lot of revisions (though thats pretty standard for freelance work), it was still a great time overall and I'm still proud of the end result. Plus Sam was great to work with! I've been a fan of his YTPs for a very long time, so it was cool getting to know him as a person while keeping things fairly professional.

We plan on producing more short comics such as this in the future.
